BSW 4-Year Plan: Title IV-E Child Welfare Career Pathway Track

This plan assumes the student has completed an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree from a regionally accredited institution and has fulfilled all General Education and Pre-Major requirements prior to entering the BSW program. If General Education requirements or Pre-Major requirements are unfulfilled upon admission to the University of Utah, additional semesters may be required to complete this degree. Students are expected to meet with an academic advisor to create a specific plan that best fits their needs.

The BSW degree requires students to complete a minimum of 120 credit hours with 40 credits of upper division and maintain a minimum of a 2.750 cumulative GPA.

SW courses with * are open to Pre-BSW and non-Social Work students.

Prior to 1st Semester at U of U

  • Complete any Pre-Major courses not included in AA/AS
  • Apply to University of Utah
  • Participate in BSW Q&A Session
  • Apply to BSW program (December 1 - March 15)
  • Complete Utah Bound Orientation
  • Participate in Welcome Activities

If not admitted to the BSW program, students can take SW classes open to all majors, which are marked with a *
