24th Summer Institute in the Human Services
June 2 - 13, 2008
Greetings!
Now in its 24th year, the Summer Institute continues to offer high quality, in-depth education in an enriching University setting. Workshops are taught by professionals in the field and University professors who understand the issues of being on the front lines, and teach both theory and practical application that will assist professionals in their daily practice.
The goal of the Professional and Community Education program (PACE) at the University of Utah College of Social Work is to bring practitioners and students skill-based classes at the lowest possible cost. Classes in the Summer Institute can cost as little as $11.46 per CEU hour, and a maximum of only $20.00 per CEU hour, depending on the course. A review of brochures from other companies shows that average costs range between $30.00-$35.00 per CEU hour, and occasionally a conference can cost much more! Most of these high-cost offerings are one day conferences, or 1-2 hour workshops within a conference - hardly enough time to learn theory, models, and skills that you can take directly back into practice, as you can with the knowledge gained through a Summer Institute class.
See you in June!
