23rd Summer Institute in the Human Services
June 4 - 15, 2007
Greetings!
Summer Institute is in its 23rd year of offering quality, in-depth education in a no-frills classroom setting. The goal of the Professional and Community Education program (PACE) at the University of Utah College of Social Work is to bring practitioners and students skill-based classes at the lowest possible cost.
Classes in the Summer Institute can cost as little as $11.00 per CEU hour, and a maximum of only $20.00 per CEU hour, depending on the course. A review of brochures from other companies shows that average costs range between $30.00-$35.00 per CEU hour, and occasionally a conference can cost much more! Most of these high-cost offerings are one day conferences, or 1-2 hour workshops within a conference - hardly enough time to learn theory, models, and skills that you can take directly back into practice, as you can with the knowledge gained through a Summer Institute class.
This year, we added classes to the Summer Institute that meet one day per week for four hours over a six week period, to help accommodate individuals who cannot be away from their other commitments several days in the same week. We also greatly improved our online registration system to be more user friendly and convenient. Please enjoy the wide selection of courses available this year, and we encourage you to register early to ensure space in your selected classes.
See you in June!
