MSW Three-Year Evening Program

The College of Social Work, through an agreement with the Utah Department of Human Services, Division of Child and Family Services, utilizes federal funding (Title IV-E), to provide a three-year evening program for graduate students currently employed by the Division of Child and Family Services. Only current employees of the Division of Child & Family Services are eligible to apply for the MSW Evening Program. The MSW Evening Program began in 2008 and will admit its second cohort of students in Fall, 2011. Students in the MSW Evening Program complete an advanced concentration of study in the Public Services domain of practice.

The MSW Evening program provides advanced knowledge and skills in child welfare practice, policy, research and leadership and an innovative forum for exploration of evidence-based and emerging prevention and intervention approaches in community-based child and family services.

Applicants must apply for admission to the University of Utah, Graduate College (www.gradschool.utah.edu) and to the College of Social Work MSW Three-Year Evening Program (www.socwk.utah.edu/msw). Applications for the 2011-2013 three-year evening program are due March 1, 2011.

Prospective students, once admitted to the Graduate College and the College of Social Work MSW Evening program, must gain the approval of their Division of Child and Family Services Regional Director to receive Title IV-E stipend and tuition support. There is a formal written application process through the Division of Child & Family Services for Title IV-E financial support.

The MSW Three-Year Evening program requires enrollment in evening classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays for six regular semesters as well as completion of summer field practicum hours.
