Helane Leta graduated with a B.A. in English from S.U.N.Y. Binghamton in 1972 and an M.S.W. from the University of Utah in 1975. She practiced as a school social worker, interpersonal skills group trainer, and family services agency director prior to joining the faculty of the csw in 1992. Professor Leta is the Director of M.S.W. Field Education and teaches in the areas of direct practice with individuals and groups and international social work. She is Chair of the csw International Social Work Committee, member of the University of Utah Student Behavior Committee, Site Visitor for the Council on Social Work Education Commission on Accreditation, and member of the Salt Lake City Community Development Advisory Committee.
