Distance Education Program

The College of Social Work, through agreements with Utah’s Department of Human Services that utilizes federal funding (Title IV-E), provides an off-campus program delivery for students living in rural areas of Utah. The distance education M.S.W. program began in 1992. Applications for the 2009-2012 cohort should apply in the fall of 2008, with applications due by December 1st, 2008.

This technology-assisted program is offered on Friday nights and Saturdays through a combination of traditional classroom study and distance technology, primarily the Utah Education Network (EDNET). Most EDNET broadcasts originate from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and connects to sites in Cedar City, Price and Ogden.

Any questions concerning the Distance Education M.S.W. Program can be directed to Scott Sorensen, program coordinator. He can be contacted at (435)586-1938, or by email at sorensen_s@suu.edu.
