The University of Utah is uniquely western, from its enviable location in a high, mountain-rimmed valley to the individuality of its students. The Us greatest natural resource is its people - over 23,000 students from every state and more than 111 foreign countries, and 4,200 regular and auxiliary faculty who are among the nations most prolific researchers. The U has research ties worldwide and ranks consistently among the top American colleges and universities in funded research.
The "U" has majors in 64 undergraduate and 90 graduate subjects. The lush 1500 acre campus, like the rest of Utah, invites students outdoors. Pedestrian walkways and bicycle paths stretch toward the mountains. Free shuttle bus service makes getting around campus quick and convenient.
Away from school, students are drawn to Utahs unparalleled outdoor attractions; from skiing, to backpacking and river running in the spectacular redrock canyons of the southern deserts. Inexpensive city buses make the University accessible to Salt Lake and adjoining counties, as well as local ski resorts.
